Event description
An online Open Space exploring ministry and mission in this time of disruption.

About this Event

The last few months have provided much disruption to our parishes, and as we look to the future there may be both more troubled waters ahead and opportunities for renewal, as new life and ways of being emerge from its midst.

This online Open Space is an opportunity for people from right across our churches and church bodies – both laity and clergy – to gather together. To try to make sense of the times we are facing, to share stories and emerging insights, to learn from each other, to discern God’s presence and to explore possible paths forward.

All are welcome to join this dialogue.

QiQoChat enables meetings to be conducted in Open Space Technology format and is scalable to very large groups (hundreds of people). This offers significant possibilities for collaborative gatherings local, nationally and internationally without the high cost of travel and associated carbon footprint. This event is a kind of 'mini Open Space' to give participants the opportunity to explore a real topic while experimenting with this new platform. The standard 'Open Space promises' apply:

a) The issues most important to you will be raised.

b) All issues will receive as much airtime as participants wish to give them within the available time.

c) Your choices and freedom to participate, at whatever level you wish, will be respected.

d) There will be the opportunity to develop specific action plans

e) A full report of the proceedings will be emailed to you within one week of the meeting

Please note the following:

1. The QiQo Platform interacts with Zoom. You will need to have downloaded Zoom onto a computer/lap top computer (the platform will not work as well on a phone or tablet and we will not be able to provide support if you run into problems using a phone or tablet).

2. You should receive a confirmation email from QiQo after you register on Eventbrite. Please click on 'create an account' (this is free) and if you wish, upload a profile picture of yourself. If you do not receive the confirmation email from QiQoChat, please email Michael Wood using the contact page at the following link: https://www.michaeljohnwood.com/contact

3. We are offering two optional possibilities to 'experiment' on accessing and navigating the QiQoChat platform prior to the main meeting. These will be held on Monday 20th July at 11am and 6pm Brisbane time. The facilitator (Michael Wood) will be in the Main meeting room at these times to show you the basic features of the program (click on the QiQo event link(in the confirmation email); login using your name and password; click the green 'Participate' button; and then click on 'Join Video Main Room'.

4. Some additional written tips for participating on the day in QiQo can be found in this GoogleDocument: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1m_sBy9KaVEflVZzo-MUJWD7O0S9W4Vhx/view?usp=sharing
