Unlock the joy of painting expressive people in watercolour — even if you’ve never painted before.

In this small, gentle workshop, you’ll learn how to simplify human shapes, capture personality with loose brushstrokes, and work with tone, colour, and flow to bring your figures to life.

10:00 – 10:10 am — Welcome & creative warm-up
10:10 – 10:30 am — Demo: Simplifying people in watercolour
10:30 – 11:30 am — Guided practice: Painting your chosen person
11:30 – 11:55 am — Add details, layers & finishing touches
11:55 – 12:00 pm — Group reflection & photos of artwork

Do I need any experience?
No, this workshop is beginner-friendly and supportive.

What should I bring?
Just a photo of a person you'd like to paint — printed (A5–A4) or on your phone.

Are materials provided?
Yes! Your ticket includes paper, brushes, palettes, and artist-grade watercolours.

Can I paint a friend, family member, or myself?
Absolutely — any person you feel connected to makes a great reference.

Can children join?
This session is designed for adults, but mature teens (15+) are welcome with a guardian.

Will I take home my artwork?
Yes — you’ll leave with your watercolour portrait and new techniques to continue exploring.

Why is it limited to 7 spots?
To ensure individual attention, a calm creative atmosphere, and plenty of workspace.

Will I receive anything after the workshop?
Yes — you’ll receive a digital handout for post-workshop practice.

Can I get a refund?

What if it rains?
We’ll be indoors at Melbourne Central Skybridge, so the session will go ahead as planned.
