Playfully engage with watercolour painting and nature in this series of fully supported hands-on workshops for beginners and experienced artists. Expand your practice in a supportive, creative and nurturing learning environment.

Playfully engage with art making inspired by the adjacent Kattang Nature Reserve.In this five and a half hour fully supported, hands-on workshop, suitable for those with some experience, you will expand your skills base and deepen your experience with watercolour. Painting in the historic Camden Head Pilot Station Boathouse studio you will:<ul><li>apply the 3 essential watercolour techniques</li><li>create two paintings and strengthen your foundation for using watercolours</li><li>experiment with a range of painting techniques incorporating bold, colourful washes; expressive brushstrokes and luminous glazes</li><li>select colour palettes and mix pigments to create original colour schemes</li><li>mindfully compose various subject elements</li><li>incorporate the flora and environment of Kattang Nature Reserve as inspiration for your paintings</li><li>use watercolour paints to represent nature using a contemporary botanical style.</li></ul>Your tutorDiane is the Artist in Residence at Camden Head Pilot Station between 21st August and 16th September. She is a painter and a teacher with multiple teaching qualifications and many years of experience teaching drawing, painting, design and photo media to adults and teenagers, at university, secondary schools and in community groups. Diane’s teaching style caters for individual differences and degrees of prior knowledge to ensure you learn in a personalised and caring learning environment.
