Event description
Connect with your body, your breath and nature. A guided walking meditation to Booroomba Rocks in Namadgi National Park.

About this Event

Transition Breath is hosting a walking meditation to Booroomba Rocks in Namadgi National Park. The facilitator will guide participants to connect with their body, their breath and to consciously and silently engage with the beautiful landscape found at Booroomba Rocks walking track.

The day will proceed as follows:

10am- Participants will meet at Booroomba Rocks walking track carpark, where they will be guided to engage with their body and their breath. This will be followed by an intention setting discussion, smudging ceremony and rapé (pronounced ha-PAY, a sacred tobacco ash, optional).

11am- Participants will then, in silence, walk along the path to Booroomba Rocks, and are encouraged to remain present and be interactive with the Land (approx. 45 minute walk).

12.00pm- Once everyone has arrived at a Booroomba Rocks, the facilitator will conduct another meditation, followed by a discussion about participants' thoughts, feelings and interaction with the environment. Light snacks will be shared before the walk back to the trail's carpark (approx. 2 hours).

2.30-3pm- A final debrief will be shared upon return, and thereafter participants are free to return to Canberra.

The recommended exchange for this meditation is $40; however, donate whatever you can. 20% of all donations will go to the Landcare ACT. Price includes: meditation and therapeutic discussions, rapé, light snacks/tea and check-in discussion (if required).

Booroomba Rocks in Namadgi National Park offers stunning views of Canberra and across the Brindabella Ranges. Wander through tall forests and take the walking track up a short steep incline to experience panoramic vistas from the top of massive granite cliffs. A leave no trace philosophy applies.

Transition Breath acknowledges the Ngunnawal people as traditional custodians of the Canberra region. The region is also a significant meeting place to neighbouring clans, including the Ngarigo, Wolgalu, Gundungurra, Yuin and Wiradjuri people.

The facilitator's name is Joshua Alexander, and he is a qualified breathwork practitioner and researcher. His contemplative practices include breathwork, nature-based therapeutic practices, yoga and meditation. Joshua is driven by a passion for not only his own inner-world exploration but also helping others do the same. Joshua is a member of the Australian Breathwork Association and the International Breathwork Foundation.
