Wade Institute and Scale Investors present the 2023 International Women’s Day Lunch ‘Cracking The Code: Innovation for a Gender Equal Future’
The Australian startup ecosystem has come a long way in the past few black swan years. Despite the market downturn, sinking valuations and a challenging economic cycle, 2022 saw $7.4B deployed across 712 deals, six new unicorns and early stage investment hit an all-time high, with more newly launched Australian startups funded by local investors than ever before.
While the good news is that today’s depth, breadth and diversity of funding instruments gives home-grown founders a range of capital to fuel their ventures and ride out the cyclical storm, there is still much more to be done to improve cap table diversity and top of funnel funding metrics to level the playing field for all founders.
So who’s driving innovation in the ecosystem and cracking the DEI code to create a more gender-equal future in Australia?
Please join us for a special International Women’s Day lunch event hosted by Wade Institute, VC Catalyst and Scale Investors to celebrate progress, learn key 2023 insights from leading funders and founders and hear from those at the forefront of change including:
- Priyanka Ashraf, Founder and Director, The Creative Co-Op
- Yish Koh, MD. Kit (and ex - x15 Ventures)
- Will Richardson, Managing Partner, Giant Leap
- Claire Rogers, Co-Founder and CEO, Oho
The event will be moderated by Madeleine Grummet - Journalist, Investor and VC Catalyst Alumni.
A Q&A will follow the panel discussion and all guests are invited to network and connect with our panel, alumni and community following the session.
