Event description

Description

Event Description:

Please join us to meet other WA yoga teachers in our community, participate in the discussion, and earn 3 CPD points. This workshop, presented by Sarah Collin, will centre around encouraging reflection on the influence we have as yoga teachers and how yoga is so much more than a session once a week in a yoga class. Exploring the deeper connection and meaning and relating this back to the yoga sutras. This event is open to all Yoga teachers, members and non-members alike.

About the Presenter - Sarah Collin

Sarah Collin has a vision to awaken the hearts of humanity. Sarah works with people to help them find harmony within themselves using yoga, yoga therapy, meditation, transformational coaching, retreats and events. Sarah is registered as a senior teacher and yoga therapist with Yoga Australia and teaches Dru Yoga, a graceful, potent form of yoga based on flowing movements, directed breathing and visualisation. Sarah's teaching style is informed by her many years of teaching experience and ongoing professional development in the areas of Integrated Yoga Awareness Practice (IYAP), trauma-sensitive yoga and yoga therapy.

What's on the agenda?

A networking opportunity to connect with other yoga teachers, enjoy a heart focused yoga session, deep relaxation and facilitated exploration, in small groups, of how yoga has influenced your life off the mat and how you can facilitate this for your students. Each group feeding back to the whole group to share findings. Finishing with a closing circle of light intention to world peace.

In this session you will learn and reflect on three key learning objectives:

  • The yoga session will explore languaging the koshas and how to take your students from the busyness of external focus into their hearts.

  • In keeping with the theme of Diwali and light, we highlight the yoga sutra 1.2 Yoga is the uniting consciousness in the heart, as we awaken our hearts in the yoga session and relate this to how we can awaken the hearts of our students. Flagging our experience to the yoga sutras and the far-reaching effects through our students.

  • Taking yoga into the broader context of everyday life, out of the yoga class and exploring as a group of teachers how we influence our students off the mat, do this through small group work and feeding back to the whole group. Sharing the wisdom of the collective group of teachers as to how they are making a difference in the world through yoga with these findings.
