About this event

State jigsaw competitions are open to puzzle enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. It's not just for serious speed puzzlers! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The competition has two divisions:

  • Individuals (3 hour time limit)
  • Pairs (2 hour time limit, 2 people)

Register for one or both events!

All participants receive the same 500 piece puzzle to be completed in the shortest amount of time. No experience necessary.

Prizes to be won for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, plus spot and raffle prizes. We encourage participants to dress up or have a theme for yourself and/or your puzzle partner.

Frequently asked questions

When does registration open?

Registration usually opens one hour before each event.

Can I participate if I live in another state?

Yes you can, however you will not be ranked and you cannot win competition prizes. You can however win spot and raffle prizes. Competitors from states without a state competition can apply to AJPA to be ranked at ONE state competition only.

Do all team and pair members need to be from the state where the competition is held?

All members of a pair or a team must reside in the state where the competition is held to get an official ranking in a state competition. Individuals, pairs and teams from other states can participate but will not receive an official ranking. Contact AJPA if you wish to participate from interstate.

I'm not very competitive. Can I still come?

Yes! State competitions are for all abilities - everyone is welcome. It's a really fun and inclusive day out whether you puzzle for fun or to win!

Do you offer any concessions?

AJPA members get a 20% discount on individual and pairs tickets (for personal use only). We also offer a 5% discount on individual tickets for seniors - use the code SENIOR5. You may be asked to show your senior card at the event. The senior code cannot be used with the AJPA member discount.
