In June 2016, the Victorian Government committed to Victorian renewable energy generation targets of 25 per cent by 2020 and 40 per cent by 2025.
The Renewable Energy (Jobs and Investment) Act 2017 legislates the Victorian Renewable Energy Targets (VRET), demonstrating Victoria’s leadership on renewable energy.
VRET will be supported by the Victorian Renewable Energy Auction Scheme (the scheme), offering contracts to successful renewable energy projects.
The 2017 auction is open to tenders following the release of the Request for Proposal via:
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This information session is for industry and will assist proponents to prepare a submission. The information session will focus on the key elements of the auction design, tender requirements and community engagement expectations.
The information session is targeted at renewable energy developers, financiers, renewable energy associations, Victorian distribution and transmission businesses, energy market operator and regulators, local councils and community groups.
Pending demand, one additional information session may be scheduled for December 2017.
For fairness, tickets per company/group will be capped at a maximum of two persons.
