About our Book Fairs Our events are entirely run and operated by volunteers, who work throughout the year collecting, sorting, cleaning, pricing and categorising books for our events. Our volunteer workforce is mostly retired members of the community and they desperately need young, strong, active volunteers to support them for the days when the boxes of books are moved from the book depot to event locations.
Lifeline Book Fairs are one of our main funding pathways. The funds raised go to a wide range of crisis support and suicide prevention services, including the national 24/7 telephone crisis line 13 11 14, face-to-face counselling services and other local community programs.
