Victorian Heritage Festival Tours | An Artist Life: Vienna to Melbourne
Duldig Studio's Heritage Festival Tours will explore change through the art and lives of émigré modernist artists Karl and Slawa Duldig.
Join Duldig Studio's Collections Specialist in delving into the former home of modernist sculptors Karl Duldig and Slawa Horowitz-Duldig, how their lives changed as they fled Vienna on the eve of WWII, worked in Singapore, and settled in the leafy suburb of Malvern East.
Be guided through the artists' historic Malvern East home, and view rare archival materials (from photographs to personal letters), that provide a portal into the disrupted but resourceful lives of this creative family. Tickets include a post-tour viewing of heritage rooms (complete with Viennese interwar modernist furniture), exhibitions of modernist art, and the Sculpture Garden.
Light refreshments inspired by Viennese coffee house culture to follow.
