VIC Consultation Session - 2023 Domestic Tuition Protection Levies

The Tuition Protection Service (TPS) is an Australian Government initiative which supports international students and eligible domestic students whose education providers are unable to fully deliver their course of study. The TPS supports affected students to continue their studies in a replacement course, or receive a refund or loan re-credit for education and training they paid for but did not receive.The TPS collects four tuition protection levies annually from international and domestic education providers. The levies are paid into sector-based quarantined accounts and are used to fund the student placement, refund, and loan re-credit activities of the TPS, as well as TPS operational costs.

2023 Domestic TPS Levy Consultation

The Tuition Protection Service (TPS) is conducting consultation sessions with domestic education and training providers on the draft 2023 VSL, HELP and Up-front Payments tuition protection levies. Join us at one or more of these sessions.

Melinda Hatton, Tuition Protection Service (TPS) Director is conducting a series of face-to-face consultation sessions for VET Student Loans (VSL) and higher education providers regarding the 2023 domestic tuition protection levies.At the recent TPS Advisory Board meeting on the 29 March 2023, the draft settings for the 2023 VET Student Loans (VSL) and higher education HELP and Up-front Payments tuition protection levies were provided to the TPS Director. During the session, the TPS Director will outline the draft 2023 domestic tuition protection levy settings and facilitate a feedback discussion. The TPS is keen to understand how providers found the first collection of the domestic levies in 2022, and to understand any current issues in the delivery environment for education providers.Registration is at 9.45am for 10am start.
