Join us for a special invitation-only UQ Ventures' ilab alumni night and conversation with GO1's CEO and Co-Founder, Andrew Barnes.

Andrew is a UQ graduate and a Germinate alumnus (Germinate 4) demonstrating an exemplary journey for UQ and Germinate founders to aspire to.

We also welcome UQ Ventures' Idea Hub alumni attendees as well as ilab and IdeaHub mentors and stakeholders.

This story will be the first of many alumni events designed to join the dots in our active community as UQ entrepreneurship programs are brought under a new exciting banner, UQ Ventures.

Attendees will also

  • Have a chance to connect and network with Germinate and SPIN alumni from all programs since 2012

  • Be updated on the massive growth of entrepreneurship at UQ including the new GerminatePlus program

  • Enjoy drinks, light refreshments with fellow founders

We want all to connect and re-connect as part of the ilab and extended UQ Ventures family.

It is a free event, open to all on condition of registration.

About our speaker, Andrew Barnes:

Like all good tech startups, GO1’s origin dates back to a garage in the suburbs of Brisbane where Andrew Barnes and Vu Tran started a web development company. Over the years to follow, GO1 expanded at a rapid rate due to their ethos of hard work and a deep appreciation of every single client and evolved as a company to become one of the top online learning platforms in the country.

Andrew’s deep knowledge of education, technology, and business relationships have shaped GO1’s signature approach to products and projects. As GO1 continues to expand and diversify, Andrew works to coordinate departments and keep the quality of service and products well above industry standard, while staying heavily involved in everyday operations. Having been awarded the prestigious Rhodes scholarship, Andrew studied at The University of Oxford, while continuing to expand the business internationally.

(This is a 5.30pm opening for a 6pm start. Please arrive with plenty of time for the evening proceedings to kick off promptly)
