Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time to get outdoors! Do you remember the iconic song "Below the Lion Rock"? It symbolizes not only Hong Kong’s resilience but also the spirit of our alumni community—supporting each other while striving for success abroad.

The Queensland Alumni Association warmly invites you to a hiking trip to Lion Rock on Saturday, March 7. Let’s step out, soak in the fresh air, and take on this iconic mountain together. From the summit, we’ll be rewarded with a stunning panoramic view of Kowloon—a perfect backdrop for catching up and strengthening our alumni bonds.

Whether you're a seasoned hiker or a beginner, all are welcome as long as you bring an enthusiastic spirit!

Event Details:

🗓 Date: Saturday, March 7, 2025
🕙 Gathering Time: 10:00 AM
📍 Meeting Point: Hang Seng Bank exit, Wong Tai Sin MTR Station (Look for our alumni association flag/banner)
🥾 Route: Lion Rock Country Park > Return Pavilion (Hui Ting) > Lion Rock Summit > Return via the same path (subject to change based on weather and group fitness)
⏳ Estimated Duration: Approx. 3-4 hours (including rest and photo stops)
💪 Difficulty: ★★★☆☆ (Moderate) – Requires a reasonable fitness level; includes stone steps and some undulating terrain
👟 What to Bring:

· Comfortable sports shoes or hiking boots (good grip is essential)
· Plenty of water (at least 1.5 – 2 liters recommended)
· Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
· Light snacks or energy food (chocolate, biscuits, etc.)
· Personal necessities and a camera

Friendly Reminders:

1. This is a free event. Please prioritize your own safety and assess your physical condition before joining.
2. Wear light, breathable clothing for comfort.
3. In case of a Red/Black Rainstorm Warning or Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above still in effect at 7:00 AM on the day, the event will be postponed or canceled. We will notify you accordingly.
