Date and time
Start NAIDOC Week grounded in Country. Uncle Vic Simms will welcome the UNSW community to Bidijgal Country and lead a smoking ceremony.
About this event
COVID-19: Due to stay-at-home orders and restrictions in place for Greater Sydney, this event will not be able to go ahead as planned. We will update this Eventbrite with more information soon.
Uncle Vic Simms, a Bidijgal Elder, will do a Welcome to Country - an ancient practice based respect and cultural protocol. In step with the NAIDOC theme of Heal Country, Uncle Vic will lead a smoking ceremony to allow us to start the week in the best possible way.
We invite the UNSW community to attend a catered morning tea (limit to 60 people) after the NAIDOC opening.
Event hosted by the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous and Nura Gili.
