Unlock your farm’s full potential
Practical planning for a productive & resilient future
🌱 Gulf Savannah NRM is proud to bring an interactive, hands-on workshop to our local farming community. This event is designed to help you increase productivity, improve efficiency, and build long-term resilience in the face of changing conditions.
If you’re looking to better understand your land, identify production constraints, and develop a clear action plan for your farm’s future, this event is for you. We will combine expert knowledge with hands-on application tailored to Far North Queensland conditions.
Workshop Format
Morning: Theory & Regional Insights
Our specialists will deliver practical, science-based insights covering:
✔ Geographically relevant knowledge of the landscape and farming systems that promote high production compared to poor productivity
✔ Methods for addressing key constraints to farm production
✔ Climatic limitations to production and FNQ’s future climate outlook
✔ Management approaches that illustrate how on-ground decisions lead to measurable improvements in land condition and farm performance
Afternoon: Hands-On Practice & Farm Mapping
In small working groups, participants will:
✔ Map productivity zones and locate geographical challenges on printed farm maps
✔ Identify priority management actions, such as adjust irrigation scheduling based on soil variability within the same block
✔ Develop a practical action plan to maximise productivity and efficiency
This is not just a presentation; it’s a working session where you’ll walk away with practical tools and a tailored action plan you can immediately apply on your property!
