Description

A talk and an exhibition by Huni Bolliger, Creative in Residence

Through a Creative in Residence Grant offered by Arts NT and based at the Northern Territory Archives Centre, film maker and animator Huni Bolliger has explored the history of Fannie Bay Gaol by telling the story of three former inmates incarcerated during its long history from 1883 to 1979.

Huni will discuss the process of using archives to learn about NT history and transform images and documents into short narrative animations. The talk will launch the Creative in Residence exhibition Under Lock and Key, an Insight into Fannie Bay Gaol. The films will screen in conjunction with the exhibition of the original archives that inspired her work.

Huni Bolliger is a local filmmaker with a passionate interest in history, art, and storytelling. With a Masters Degree in Film, Television and Animation she has worked across a range of disciplines including video production, animation, script writing, editing, eLearning and art teaching. Her films have won awards in Australia and abroad.
