Discover the beauty of eucalypts in this special walk on everything eucalypt. The walk includes a talk on their unique characteristics, their incredible adaptation to Australian climates and their significant role in supporting biodiversity in Australia’s ecosystems. You can also learn how to identify eucalypts growing in your backyard.
This special guided walk led by the Volunteer Guides is part of GumFest which celebrates National Eucalypt Day held annually in March. Come and enjoy the GumFest activities at Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha on Sunday 22 March from 10 am to 3 pm.
This event will be held at the Australian Plant Communities section of the Botanic Gardens. You can walk (20–30 minute walk) or jump on the shuttle bus from the Visitor Information Centre.
Requirements: Please wear a hat, enclosed walking shoes, and be sure to bring a water bottle, sunscreen and insect repellant.
Meeting point: Meet at the Information Tent at GumFest in the Australian Plant Communities.
Cost: Free
Age: Suitable all ages.
