Tweens and Teens workshop - Sew a coiled basket (Pilot Event)

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A HEAVILY DISCOUNTED PILOT EVENT AS I WOULD LOVE YOUR FEEDBACK. IT IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE RUN IT SO THE COST IS JUST TO COVER MATERIALS, BOOKING FEES AND INSURANCE.

Join us at Albany Creek Library on Tue 28 May 2024 at 3:30PM for a fun and creative event where you and your child can learn the basics of embroidery together and each create a work of art.

Who is this workshop for?

This hands-on workshop is perfect for beginners who would like to learn the basics of hand sewing coil baskets and bowls.

I will discuss materials and technique and you will come away with a small trinket bowl and the tools and knowedge to create a bigger bowl/basket.

This workshop includes all materials for your small bowl and the start of your bigger bowl and you keep your needle so you can keep going if you do not finish within the period of the workshop.

NOTE FOR PARENTS/ GUARDIANS : Parents, I hold a Blue Card and will be taking your phone details and emergency information. You are welcome to stay with your child in the room to help them with their project. If you prefer, you can also stay on site in the main library area where we can easily reach you if needed. If you would like to participate, there is a ticket option for this as well.

Parents are welcome to attend with their children for free or can purchase a parent and child ticket to participate in the craft activity to make their own item. * Parents must stay on site for the duration of the class so we can reach them easily.

What is included?

I provide all materials and instruction and cool drinks. You can take home your needle and bowls.
