About this event

Learn all aspects of wheel throwing pottery. Our teaching artist Tracey holds a wealth of experience as well as creating safe, accessible spaces for creativity to flourish.

In this course, you'll learn technique skills of wheel throwing including preparation of clay, centring, creating form, trimming and glazing.

Our community of artists is diverse, welcoming, and supportive, so you'll have the opportunity to connect with others who share your passion for creativity.

Come join us for a relaxing and fulfilling experience in our fully accessible arts studio.

  • Tuesday 23 April to 18 June
  • 9.45am to 12.15pm

This program includes all materials.

Please note: Aditional costs will apply for all firing at $15 per kilo. Firing costs are not included in the term fee.

  • Apron

Bookings are essential and numbers are strictly limited to 8.

Please be advised that cancellations may take place 24 hours before the course starts. We will endeavor to offer you a place in another class or alternatively offer you refund.

Class Cancellation or Substitute Teachers

Due to illness, unforeseen circumstances or where a suitable substitute is not available and a class has to be cancelled, you will be contacted via email and by SMS 30 minutes prior to the class starting. In these situations, either a class refund will be processed, or an additional class will be added to the term dates.

Extra support/Medical Conditions

Please notify staff if you or your child require extra support during classes, have a medical condition and any relevant allergies that we should be aware of.

Refund Policy

You will not receive a refund once a course has started for classes you miss for non-attendance. You may receive a refund on the following:

• A cancelled class due to tutor illness or unavailability

• You have tested positive to Covid-19

• Long term illness

• Personal reasons, such as bereavement

You will not be offered a refund in instances of conflicting scheduling on your part.

Parking

Parking is available at Manningham Council MC2 building. There are two ways you can access the building – through the Doncaster library entrance on ground level or via the elevators from the MC2 underground car park.

The library entrance may be closed after hours. In which case, please enter via the underground Carpark at MC2 and take elevator to Level 2, exit right, turn left along walkway to the art studios.

Please note: Carpark entry gate automatically closes at 8pm but has a sensor for exiting as you leave at the conclusion of your class.

Staying COVID Safe

All staff, students and visitors to Manningham Art Studios are required to comply with current COVID Safe practices and legislative requirements. If you are unwell, please stay home. We suggest you get tested for COVID-19. We request that students and visitors who have recently tested positive notify us at artstudios@manningham.vic.gov.au or by phone 03 9840 9382.
