About this event

We're looking forward to welcoming you to the Geelong Waurn Ponds campus for Trimester 1. You're invited to join us for a free campus tour and to learn more about the campus, services and facilities available.

Campus Tours will run Monday to Friday 10:30 am - 2:30 pm during OWeek (1-5 March) and 10:30am - 2pm in Week 1 (8-12 March). Tour times will be approximately 20 minutes.

To comply with COVID-Safe guidelines, there will be limit of 8 participants per tour. Please make sure you register for your preferred time to avoid missing out. We're looking forward to seeing you!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Information on how to enter forms part of these Terms and Conditions. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and entries must comply with these Terms and Conditions to be valid.

This competition is governed by the laws in force in the State of Victoria, Australia.

The Competition

The competition is free to enter and is strictly for current Deakin students who have registered AND attended a T1 campus tour, held on the Burwood, Waterfront, Waurn Ponds or Warrnambool campuses.

Entrants must register to attend a campus tour via Eventbrite and complete a check-in via Eventbrite on arrival. Students who register but do not attend will not be eligible to enter this competition.

Staff employed by Deakin University and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the competition.

Competition period

The competition period for all campuses is from Monday 1 March to Friday 12 March.

Prizes

There will be a prize pool of three UE ‘Wonderboom’ speakers on offer. Each speaker holds RRP of approx. $129 AUD.

How to enter

To enter, students must visit the Eventbrite listing for their chosen campus, and register for their preferred tour time using their Deakin contact details. Students must then attend their campus tour, and check-in with the Orientation Ambassador staff upon arrival to confirm their attendance.

Selection and notification of winner

  • Winners will be selected from checked-in attendees at random.
  • Winners will be announced at the end of Week 2 (19 March, 2021).
  • Winners will be notified by email or phone.

Winners may collect their prize from one of our four campuses or can opt to receive their prizes via registered post.

If the winner does not respond to claim the prize within 7 days of contact from Deakin University, the winner forfeits the prize and another random entry will be chosen. This process may continue until the prize is awarded.

Prizes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash. Deakin’s decision is final and binding – no correspondence will be entered into. Deakin accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries or other communications. Entries will be deemed void if forged, manipulated or tampered with in any way.

Entrants consent to Deakin using their name, image or voice for promotional purposes. Entrants agree to make themselves available for a photograph and interview in the event that theirs is the winning entry and if requested by Deakin.

Winners consent to their name and photograph being published on Deakin University social media and other digital channels if requested to in any and all forms as determined by the Division of Student Life.

Privacy collection, use and disclosure statement

Personal Information provided to Deakin University by entrants will be used to notify the winner of the competition. A photograph of the winners may be published on Deakin University’s social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, WordPress and Instagram and other digital channels such as the Deakin Life blog.

Deakin University complies with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) in its treatment of personal information. Entrants have a right to access their personal information held by the University. Requests for access to personal information are managed under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic).
