About this event

Open to City of Charles Sturt residents, employees or volunteers, with a focus on Older Adults.

Remember the 'splash' when you let go of the rope that hung from a tree on a riverbank? Maybe you planted a celebration tree in your backyard! Perhaps you found a good tree to cry next to. Was there a time when a tree caused all sorts of trouble? Or a tree that led simply to jam!

Discover traditional tree stories from the UK, China and Kazakhstan, shake the stories from your own memory tree and try planting your own tree story or poem.

Helen is a skilled workshop leader who will endeavour to make this a worthwhile and enjoyable experience for all. These sessions will appeal to both shy and outgoing folk! From peoploe who like facts to people who prefer fiction.

This is a four-week journey that includes an excursion to the Botanic Gardens and culminates in a tree planting cermony.

First program: 19 March, 26 March, 2 April and 9 April
Second program: 30 April, 7 May, 14 May, 21 May
Time: 10-11:30am
Where: 19 on Green Community Centre, 19 Green St, Brompton
There will be a tree planting ceremony to celebrate the end of the first and second programs!
