Travis Lovett at Murdoch University
Truth-Telling, Treaty & Transformational Leadership
Murdoch University proudly welcomes Travis Lovett a Kerrupmara/Gunditjmara and Boandik leader, nationally recognised advocate for justice, and former Deputy Chair of the Yoorrook Justice Commission, Australia’s first formal truth-telling process. [unimelb.edu.au]
Travis has led some of the most significant truth‑telling and treaty work in Australia, including the historic 500km Walk for Truth, a 25‑day journey from Gunditjmara Country to the steps of Parliament House in Naarm (Melbourne), where more than 5,000 people walked beside him in solidarity. His work has helped shape Victoria’s Treaty process, informed the state’s Closing the Gap strategy, and continues to influence national conversations on justice, sovereignty and structural reform. [unimelb.edu.au]
This is a rare opportunity for staff, students, and community to learn directly from a leader who has walked literally and politically the path of truth-telling, healing, and transformation.

Walk beside a leader who believes:
“Truth-telling is not symbolic. It’s a reckoning, truth-telling is treaty in motion.” [abc.net.au]
Together, let’s explore how truth, responsibility, and shared action can shape a fairer future for all.
