ABOUT THE CREATIVE PROJECT:The Transit Creative Project is one of Australia’s leading holiday intensives for dancers 12 – 25 years old. Taking place over four days, this workshop based project sees participants work with renowned Australian choreographers to create and rehearse an original 20-minute dance work. These works are then presented onstage at the conclusion of the week in a full scale performance in our very own Transit Dance Theatre. This is a unique opportunity for emerging young artists to work closely with the Transit Dance creative team and gain valuable insight into a professional creative process in a non-competitive and collaborative environment. The project is held twice per year at Transit Dance Brunswick, and students have the option to participate in either a Performing Arts (Jazz), or Contemporary Creative Project. In 2019, the Transit Creative Project was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Community Dance at the Australian Dance Awards.Learn more about the project here >>
