Trans and Gender Diverse Inclusive Practice Workshop - Tweed Heads
Healthy North Coast invite GPs & primary care professionals to explore inclusive healthcare for Trans & Gender and Gender Diverse patients
Healthy North Coast, in partnership with ACON, invites GPs and primary care professionals to submit an Expression of Interest for a four-hour, face-to-face workshop exploring inclusive healthcare for Trans and Gender Diverse (TGD) patients.
This practical workshop builds on the optional two-part webinar series delivered in 2025: Part 1: LGBTQ+ Health Introduction and Part 2: Trans & Gender Diverse Healthcare. Clinicians do not need to have attended one or both webinars.
About the Workshop
Trans and Gender Diverse people come from all cultures and backgrounds, with lived experiences that require thoughtful, informed approaches to respectful and effective care. This advanced training will deepen your understanding of TGD communities and address key questions:
- How do experiences of discrimination impact TGD health outcomes?
- What are the options for social, legal, and medical gender affirmation?
- What challenges do TGD people face in healthcare settings?
- How can I provide gender-affirming care and make my practice more inclusive?
- What strategies can improve inclusivity and support better health outcomes?
The session includes case studies, role-play scenarios, and exclusive video content featuring leading trans-affirming GP Dr Portia Predny, who shares expertise in gender-affirming care, including hormone therapy and surgical intervention options.
