About this event

  • 6 hours

The 5 straw plait can be used in many ways in corn dolly making. It can be made as a rope or it can be used to create many different shapes or forms. The Cornucopia corn dolly represents a “horn of plenty” and showcases the plait and displays the bounty of Spring or Autumn.

In this full-day workshop, you will learn the history of traditional straw plaiting, how to prepare wheat for plaiting and a focus on the 5 straw plaiting technique.

At the end of your workshop, you will have made a number of 5 straw plaited corn dollies including a Cornucopia to take home.
