RMIT research center's have come together to conduct large scale research and produce a series of five reports that consider the acceleration of digital technology directly impacted by COVID-19 and consequently, the opportunity areas for a digital CBD.

Just and resilient supply chains are fundamental to the development of a digital CBD but in order to build digital cities, digital supply chains need to be built first. Join Dr Tharuka Rupasinghe, one of the report authors, at our live release of Report 3 in the Digital CBD research series, which will examine key elements of supply chain resilience such as cyber security, information technology, supply chain management and economics to highlight the issues, challenges and opportunities for Melbourne to transition towards a digital CBD. In her previous research, she explored the stakeholder perceptions towards using blockchain-based solutions to support critical digital infrastructures and identified their socio-technical implications by working closely with end-users and industry collaborators.Tharuka received her PhD in Information Systems from Monash University. In her PhD thesis, she explored the feasibility of implementing a transparent and auditable collaborative access control infrastructure, incorporating a blockchain-based dynamic consent management mechanism for secondary use of Electronic Health Records. <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/konrad-peszynski-60a27520/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dr Konrad Peszynski</a>Dr Peszynski's specific research interests include supply chain management and associated technologies, eBusiness, eProcurement and the social aspects of information.His PhD titled “Power and Politics in a System Implementation” was awarded in 2006 at Deakin University (Victoria, Australia). His PhD had a strong focus on the social issues surrounding systems implementation. The study aimed to identify the role of power and politics in systems implementation.Since joining RMIT, Konrad has been involved in the School of Business IT and Logistics and teaches into the Masters of Strategic Procurement, Masters of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Masters of Business (Information Technology) and the Masters of Commerce.<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/matt-warren-a260a753/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Professor Matthew (Matt) Warren</a>Professor Warren is the Director of the RMIT University Centre for Cyber Security Research and Innovation and a Professor of Cyber Security at RMIT University. He has held roles such as Deputy Director of University Research Centre, Head of School, Deputy Head of School, Program Leader for several programs during his tenure at Deakin University. Matt is a researcher in the areas of Cyber Security and Computer Ethics. He has received numerous grants and awards from national and international funding bodies, such as: Australian Research Council (ARC); Engineering Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) in the United Kingdom; National Research Foundation (NRF) in South Africa.<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/chris-berg1/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Associate Professor Chris Berg</a>Chris Berg is a Principal Research Fellow at RMIT University and co-director and co-founder of the RMIT Blockchain Innovation Hub. He is the author of eleven books including Understanding the Blockchain Economy: An Introduction to Institutional Cryptoeconomics. Associate Professor Berg is a nationally and internationally recognised expert in blockchain, regulation, and civil liberties. He is a regular media commentator in newspapers, radio and television and has appeared as a keynote speaker around the world.
