TIP OF THE ICE: Understanding, recognising and responding to methamphetamine use in the general practice setting.
Hosted by Sturt Fleurieu Education and Training
Presented by Dr Chris Holmwood
THIS EVENT IS NOW AT CAPACITY - WE ARE TAKING A WAITLIST.
Sturt Fleurieu Education and Training has identified a need for GP education with respect to ICE use. Due to this, we are holding a complimentary workshop for all South Australian GPs and Practice Managers to better understand and how to recognise and respond to methamphetamine patients.
Attendees to this workshop will:
- understand the epidemiology of MA use in South Australia
- understand common types of presentations in the primary care setting
- be able to assess the type of MA use and associated risks
- be able to respond through appropriate Brief Interventions in order to engage the patient
- be able to refer the patient to appropriate services.
