Organic veggie garden and wicking beds workshop begins

The workshop will begin at 12pm sharp. Please note the workshop will take place inside.

About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

Unlock the secrets on how to grow organic veggies and create wicking beds for a thriving, water-smart garden with Fiona Blackham from Gaia Permaculture.

During the workshop, you’ll learn:

· Organic gardening, where to start and how to get the best use of space

· Soil and composting – what you put in is what you’ll get out

· Companion planting & crop rotation, including succession planting

· Organic pest control & soil builders for healthier plants

· What to do with the excess produce

We will also look at how easy wicking beds are to build and why they are such a great way to reduce your water use whilst still growing healthy and nutrient rich veggies and herbs!

This workshop has been organised in partnership with Gidgegannup Men’s Shed. All attendees are welcome to arrive from 11.30am for a free sausage sizzle.
