About this event
- 2 days 1 hour
Lush and fun – Set in sumptuous, witch-friendly, surrounds, deep within world herritage rainforrest, that make it easy for you to strengthen your magickal connection with nature at the time of the sabbat.
IMBOLC SABBAT RETREAT
Also known as Imbolg, Candlemas, Feast of Torches, Oimelc, Lupercalia and Brigid’s Day.
This powerful cross quarter day is a day filled with energy available for you to bring about magickal changes in accordance with your will.
An open Sabbat ritual – on Saturday night – but a weekend full of enjoying the company of people with similar spiritual beliefs –
- Good food -
- Great minds -
- Large hearts -
- True coven environment -
Stay the whole weekend, one day or just come for the Sabbat ceremony.
Clothing = Bring your best witchy finery to wear + your Ritual Robes, if you have any. Remember that this is being held in a world heritage rainforest valley at change of seasons. So days are warm but nights are still cold and frosty. Bring an umbrella and lots of warm stuff, jumpers and a hot water bottle! The ritual will be held outdoors on Saturday night weather permitting.
Accommodation = Cabin or dormitory style (some arrangements available for those who cannot stay the whole weekend for the ritual night only.) We need you to confirm that you are coming as space is limited.
This is a country style retreat – that means that you will need to:
- Bring your own bedding – or sleeping bag even for the bed – - for the dormitory style accommodation – private cabins have linen and cleaning.
- You will have to clean up after yourself. Honour our green mother. Please don't leave a mess for our hosts.
- The feast will be provided on Saturday night – however other meals are your responsibility – there is a beautiful share kitchen - bring your own food and special dietary requirements.
- The location details will be sent to you with your registration package.
- Accommodation checkout is midday Sunday – please have your rooms cleaned and tidy by then. The program will continue through until the early evening. We understand that many people have to leave Sunday night in order to be ready for work on Monday morning. However, an extra nights accommodation is available upon enquiry.
Saturday Night Feast =The main meal will be lamb and milk based as this is traditional for this Sabbat – Milk and lamb meat are a traditional meal sacred to Bridget on this night. If this does not fit in with your dietary requirements, you are welcome to bring your own food to be blessed for the feast.
Two workshops will be conducted on the weekend –(see below for details) plus, you will be shown how to tie your Bridget cross to use in the ritual.
Sabbat = The Festival of Goddess Brigit, goddess of fire and warmth returning to the earth. Imbolc is the time of the beginning of beginnings, the time to consider carefully what you will do with the year stretching before you. Imbolc brings the awakening of the life force when the first green shoots of bulbs appear. Utilise the energy of this time of the year to bring what you wish to life. Life is stirring again and this marks the Goddess recovering after giving birth while the newborn God is depicted as a small child nursing from his mother. The God is growing, spreading sunshine all around causing things to grow. It is a time to honour the feminine and get ready for spring. At lmbolc, the Australian forests are bright with the colour yellow, the Acacia trees coming into full flower. Until fairly recently, the 1st of August was “Wattle day” in Australia (it has now been moved to the 1st of September).
