Event description

Description

There’s a global epidemic occurring that is beyond comprehension, an epidemic that impacts all our lives, our workplaces, our homes, and our schools.

It's our mental health, and it’s spiralling at an alarming rate with first world countries at the top of the list. We now have entire nations on mind altering medications, with Australia ranking second only to Iceland in prescribing the most anti-depressants in the world. Yet, most people view Australia as the land of opportunity and happiness. How can this be? What have we got so horribly wrong, and what are we prepared to do about it?

Mental health is without doubt the number one epidemic in this country that is holding us back, and workplaces that don’t believe it’s their duty of care, may well feel it in the bottom line.

Who is this event for?

HR MANAGERS, WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICERS, SCHOOLS, EDUCATION CENTRES AND ANY INDIVIDUALS LOOKING TO IMPROVE AND UNDERSTAND MENTAL HEALTH.

Ahead of R U OK day, Mental Health Week and Safe Work Month, we invite you to come and hear Paul’s message, to see if his very important story should be shared at your workplace.

This upfront and very personal session will cover a range of topics surrounding mental health. Paul Spinks is an Advanced Care Paramedic and Councillor. He will give real life stories from his work at the front line, surrounding issues of Depression, Suicide, Sugar, Blood Pressure and Diabetes.

NOW IS THE TIME TO REFRAIN, RETHINK, RESPOND.

ABOUT PAUL SPINKS web profile

Paul Spinks regards mental and physical health at the top of the list when it comes to our overall performance and especially in the workplace; without this not only do we under-perform at home, but we most definitely won’t perform at work. Read more

The 64 million dollar question here is, “Are we micro-managing ourselves well, or are we micro-managing ourselves sick?

Testimonials

"The first time (ever) I have been to a workplace seminar where every attendee was riveted and listened to every word spoken!"
BHP BILLITON

"I have completed the survey. But of all the seminars and training I have attended in my years with Stanwell, this is top of the pile for content and satisfaction. It's not often I say that a two-hour commitment was worth it, but in this case it was and I would have willingly stayed longer if he had more to reveal. Thank you to you and your team for arranging this."
