Ways and Means

Music moves us – literally! The University of Melbourne Concert Band will take you on a journey through a busy airport, down a river, across an imaginary country, to heaven, and from a church to a wedding reception, via works by Jennifer Jolley, Florence Price, Lachlan Pierce, Anton Bruckner and Derek Bourgeois. Also featured is a world premiere of Australian composer Dulcie Holland’s Stanmore Road March (1966) - one of several historic works on the program restored to the repertoire after lying hidden for many years - arranged for Wind Band by conductor Tracy Videon. Enjoy being transported as the band showcases a diverse range of repertoire of original compositions and transcriptions spanning over a century.
