Or maybe nobody ever deliberately taught you.
But somewhere along the way, we all inherit ideas about what being a man means — how to act, how to handle anger, what strength looks like, how to treat other people, what to show and what to hide.

THE SHIFT – beyond the algorithm is a 90-minute practical, non-judgemental space to explore masculinity, relationships, respect, emotions, communication, responsibility and choice for young men aged 16–24.
No lectures, no judgement - just a chance to look at the patterns you've inherited, and decide what you want to do with them.

THE SHIFT - beyond the algorithm
Each young men's learning circle will include: 1. Opening survey Establishing participants' perspectives and expectations. 2. Welcome and safety Creating an inclusive environment with clear community guidelines. 3. 90-minute facilitated conversation A structured discussion exploring masculinity, relationships, emotions, peer influence, respect and positive choices. 4. Closing evaluation Capturing participant feedback and changes in understanding. 5. Follow-up resource pack Providing practical resources, support information and pathways for further assistance. The program will use trauma-informed practice, confidentiality, appropriate disclosure and referral pathways, and trained facilitators who understand the needs of young people.
