The Red Tent: A First Moon Circle for Girls & Their Mothers/Guardians

The Red Tent: A First Moon Circle for Girls & Their Mothers/Guardians

The Goddess Temple @ Soulitude SanctuaryBrisbane, QLD
Sunday, Mar 1, 2026 from 10 am to 12 pm AEST
Overview

This event is a beautiful, sacred circle to honour a girl’s transition into womanhood.

For generations, girls were welcomed into their first bleed with ceremony, wisdom and community. Today many of us grew up with confusion, shame, or silence around our periods.

The Red Tent is a return to something ancient.

Be welcomed into a warm, nurturing space where girls and their mothers/guardians gather in circle to learn, share stories, ask questions, and celebrate the menstrual cycle as something powerful, natural and worthy of honour.

Together we will:

🌹 learn about the menstrual cycle in an age-appropriate, body-positive way
🌹 share stories and wisdom across generations
🌹 create simple ritual and ceremony
🌹 make something special to take home
🌹 open honest conversations between mothers and daughters
🌹 replace shame with confidence and connection

This is not a clinical education class or an awkward “talk.”

It is a heart-led, safe and beautiful experience designed so girls feel:

✨ proud of their bodies
✨ prepared for their first bleed
✨ supported and celebrated

And so mothers/guardians feel:

✨ confident guiding their daughters
✨ connected
✨ resourced with language and tools

🌸 What We’ll Experience

Over two hours, I will guide the circle through:

  • Opening circle
  • Grounding meditation with cacao
  • Storytelling and shared wisdom from women
  • Age-appropriate body literacy and first moon/period education
  • Partner conversations between girls and their chosen guides
  • Creative workshop representing the seasons of the menstrual cycle
  • An anointing and blessing ritual
  • Closing gratitude circle

🌸 Who This is For

Girls aged approximately 9–14 who are:

  • approaching their first period
  • recently started menstruating
  • or wanting body literacy and support as their body evolves

Each girl attends with a trusted adult woman (mother, auntie, grandmother, guardian, or mentor).

🌸 What to Bring

Please bring:

  • A journal or notebook
  • Water bottle
  • A cushion you like (we also have cushions and chairs available; however, we will be mostly seated on the ground)
  • Some mugs you both like (we also have mugs available)
  • A small item for the altar (stone, photo, flower, charm, etc.)
  • An open heart and curiosity

All materials, crafts, cacao, and keepsakes are provided.

This circle is intended for sacred honouring of the feminine experience, both for girls and women.

You are a sacred being and deserve to be treated as such.

This is not a space for shame or judgment. Come as you are and be held in a container of loving sisterhood.

🌸 About Your Guide

Bianca is a ceremonial mystic, initiated in sacred energy activation, meditation, and ceremonial healing. As a keeper of threshold spaces, she holds ceremonies as portals of remembrance and initiation, guiding others through the sacred work of rites of passage and transformation. Deeply moved by the novel The Red Tent, Bianca is part of a growing movement of women dedicated to reviving the sacred feminine reverence that has been forgotten over time. May our daughters always remember how powerful they are. ✨
