The Parkinson's Marathon Walk

Get in quick !

We have a cap of 300 registered walkers, so don'`t delay, register NOW!!

Join "The Dean Team" (your event organisers) for a fun-filled day at the Parkinson's Marathon Walk! Lace up your sneakers and get ready to make a difference. This in-person event will be held at the beautiful Artarmon Reserve in Artarmon, NSW, Australia. We are excited to bring together people from all walks of life to raise awareness and donations to support Parkinson's NSW and those living with Parkinson's disease, and to simply have a good time.

Again, our Major Sponsor is Advance Rehab Centre. As usual, they will have a big presence on the day, doing what they do best, helping those with Parkinson's live the lives they deserve.

Last year was a great year for us with the Parkinson's Community, relatives, friends, workmates and the general public, rallying together and raising $30,000. This went straight to Parkinson's NSW to continue the valuable work they do helping those with Parkinson's live better lives and achieve their aims and goals.

This year, we have a goal of $40,000 and I completely believe we can do it. Please go to our donation website (run by Parkinson's NSW), which is linked below where you can set up your own team, set up an individual page and make updates with stories and pictures etc. or just make a one off donation.

Send this page around to family, friends, workmates and other members of the community, and give them the opportunity to support our worthy cause. I think you will be incredibly surprised by the response.

Below are some of the projects that your donations will be used for. Parkinson's NSW will have representatives there on the day if you would like more information about their activities.

YOUR DONATION PAGE IS WAITING FOR YOU, PLEASE BE PART OF THE SOLUTION FOR THOSE WITH PARKINSON'S AND SEND THIS PAGE AROUND!

Frequently asked questions

Where is the event held?

Artarmon Reserve, Burra Road, Artarmon NSW 2064 (see associated map)

What is the best way to get there?

As there is limited parking in the car park, we suggest you carpool or take public transport. The course is very close to Artarmon train station (check local timetables)

Will food and water be provided on the day?

There will be a food and coffee truck available and ARC will be providing some water and fruit. It is suggested that you come prepared for yourself, you can also bring a picnic lunch for the family.

What if I can't walk the minimum distance of 5km?

There is no minimum distance, the distances are just for organisational reasons. This is not a race, it's an event where people have an opportunity to achieve their goals, that might be 1km or 42 km. Just inform volunteers at the registration tent what distance you will be attempting.

What about sun protection?

Sun protection will be up to the individual to slip, slop, slap.

What happens if I injure myself?

We have taken every effort to ensure it is a safe event and course but if something does occur, we will have volunteers to support you all around the course and meet any need you might have. St Johns Ambulance personnel will be present to meet any medical needs.

Will there merchandise available for purchase on the day?

We will have a limited number of walk T-shirts and hats available for purchase on the day.
