The Intriguing Trail
Event Information
About this Event
Follow the arrows to the registration table in Yam Daisy Park where you'll find out more about Yam Daisies and have a brief safety induction before heading off along the trail with a group nine other cyclists, a leader and support rider to discover our most in-TREE-guing trees.
We'll be stopping at Tuttangga, Park 17 for a self-catered picnic lunch, during which time you'll meet 'Sir Hans Heysen' who will be doing a spot of painting, before the tree planting ceremony with 'Sir Douglas Mawson' - both of whom were founding members of the South Australian Forest League.
Roving Cafe will be at the picnic, with delicious coffees and other hot drinks to purchase.
What to bring:
picnic lunch, bottle of water, hand sanitiser, sunscreen
What to wear:
If possible, dress in old-fashioned attire to help celebrate the centenary of the Forest League.
Don’t have old-fashioned clothes in your wardrobe? Don’t panic; there are a lot of ways to get into the spirit of this ride with modern clothes you might have.
Search for natural fabrics with interesting textures (corduroy wool, lace), clothes that you can layer, scarves, gloves, hats, stockings or thickish socks, leather shoes, suspenders, bowties, jewellery (real or fake) – all of this can pull otherwise separate articles of clothing together.
The dress code is simple: anything that harks back to a time before Lycra!
