After a hiatus due to wildfires the "Dirty Rat" rolls out out of Ararat again this year on some splendid gravel roads into Gariwerd NP
After a hiatus due to wildfires the "Dirty Rat" rolls out out of Ararat again this year on some splendid gravel roads into Gariwerd National park. An action packed 3 day weekend features some spectacular climbs, a ride for all skill levels on day 2 and catering for the entire weekend!
Distance: Day 1, 65 or 90 with a significant climb towards the end of the day. Day 2 hasroutes of 60-130km to choose from. Day 3 is a return of day one.
Checkpoints: We'll be aiming to provide feed stations along the route as well as adding in some scenic highlights to tick off, that will count towards points and prizes.
What to bring: camping gear, a few snacks, plate, bowl, cutlery, warm clothes for around camp.
Bag drop: Don’t want to carry your gear? Drop it at the shop the Friday before and collect it at camp. (limited places so if you are used to carrying your gear please do)
Dinner and entertainment: We will be catering dinner and breakfast as well as feed stations on all three days. There'll be spot prizes for various ridiculous challenges over the weekend, so do your best to tick off every checkpoint and read all instructions.
Cost: $250 (plus booking fee) including campsite, dinner and drinks (day 1+2), breakfast (day 2+3), lunches(day 1&2) and snacks across the weekend. If would like to save on the booking fee please email us and we can organise direct deposit.
