About this event

Join CCA Chairman the Hon. Sid Sidebottom, CCA staff and passionate King Island Coasters as we launch The Coasters on King Island and hear about their plans to support young people on King Island.

The Coasters is a group of like-minded aspirational young people who live and work on the Cradle Coast, and wish to influence the region's future. Through regular events they share skills, knowledge and experiences to raise aspirations and improve access to career development and mentoring opportunities.

Thanks to the Australian Government's Building Better Regions Fund, King Islanders have been able to get involved and make plans to establish their own network of The Coasters on the Island.

Most Coasters are between 18 and 35 y.o, however there is no age limit, we're for the young and young at heart.

Come along to the launch of The Coasters on King Island to find out more about the initiative.

Refreshments provided, please ensure you register as places are limited.

The Coasters is a network of like-minded aspiration young people, who live and work on the Cradle Coast of Tasmania. Sharing skills, knowledge and experiences to raise aspirations whilst improving access to career development and mentoring opportunities.

The potential for social and cultural change increases when young people are actively engaged and committed to contributing to the community. A vibrant and dynamic network of young people raises the aspirations of the whole region.

The future of this region is dependent on young people from diverse industries and sectors choosing to build their careers and their lives on the coast.

The Coasters covers all industries and sectors - young tradies, public servants, professionals and entrepreneurs. Open to everyone from 18 - 45 years, our events will be held right across the region from Deloraine to Circular Head.

Our events aim to build strong networks and social connections, providing insights and advice, as well as enabling young people to have their say. Whilst celebrating the coast as an attractive place for young people to live and work.

The Coasters is managed by passionate young volunteers, hosted by the Cradle Coast Authority and supported by the University of Tasmania and CPA Australia.
