The Clay Studio: Term 1 2026
The Clay Studio: Term 1 | Fridays 10am – 12.00pm
After popular demand, The Clay Studio is back for another term!
This course is perfect for ceramic lovers of all levels and abilities - no prior knowledge needed! Create new clay works every week and grow your hand-building and specialised glazing skills. By the end of term, you will have many finished nature inspired slab-built clay projects and developed a better understanding of working with ceramics.
Term 1 Dates: Fridays, 20 February - 27 March 2026 (6 weeks)
T imes: 10am - 12:00pm
Ages: 15+ years

Weekly Program Outline
Week 1 - Spice Dish:
Focusing on template based slab construction.
Week 2 - Chip and Dip Platter:
Focusing on construction and design of a functional object.
Week 3 - Leaf Inspired Trinked Dish:
Focusing on surface decoration through rolling and imprinting.
Week 4 - Elephant Leaf Sculpture:
Focusing on constructing and decorating through cutting and shaping.
Week 5 - Glazing:
Focusing on glazing and underglazing.
Week 6 - Glazing:
Focusing on finalising glazing.
Conditions: The health and well-being of our community is a top priority for us. FCMG is aware of the on-going health situation, which could lead to the possibility of this program not going ahead. We will notify any registered participants if anything should arise and will issue a refund or a credit.
