Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

This critically acclaimed documentary follows the stories of celebrated French neuroscientist Dr. David Servan-Schreiber and the film’s director Meghan O’Hara (Fahrenheit 9/11, Bowling for Columbine, Sicko) on their unconventional battles against cancer and their paths from diagnosis to survival.

The C Word explores the trends and habits that can increase the risk of cancer, including an intrusive media and the trillion-dollar processed food industry. The film also exposes communities of people who are paradoxically undernourished and overweight, struggling against the effects of the disease.

Documentary filmmaker Meghan L. O’Hara, working in collaboration with executive producer Morgan Freeman, poses questions that make us look at cancer in a different light, highlighting that 70 per cent of cancer deaths are preventable.

“Walking out of the film, the viewer will find they have a much greater control of their destiny than when they walked in. For a film about sickness, it provides new hope for staying well, but it’s up to us” (Dave Chase, Forbes).
