About this event

45-minute art classes for creative kids

Welcome to The Beach Studio, where art is all about having fun, letting go and going with the flow! Our 45-minute sessions adopt a step-by-step style approach to painting an original artist inspired masterpiece, which the artists can keep.

Whilst parents sit back and relax, each child learns the steps to creating a copy of a famous artist’s work as well as learning a little about the artist. Each painting is then photographed and uploaded to our online art gallery of fame where the kids can share their artworks with their family and friends.

The Beach Studio artists paint at the West Beach Eatery and Patisserie located within West Beach Parks using supplied art materials.

PLEASE NOTE: Although there shouldn't be any changes, any alterations to our sessions will be announced on our Facebook page on the day, so please check if you're unsure.

The Beach Studio runs weekly kids’ art classes (for ages 5-12) on Saturdays as well as less regular KIDS+BIG KIDS and ART+WINE+BEACH (adult sip and paint) sessions. All classes are run on a casual basis so there are no lock-in term bookings.

My name is Julia Blanka and I developed The Beach Studio because I love art, working with children and the beach. I have previous experience working in children’s art programs at the Guggenheim Museum in New York as well as the Adelaide Festival and running the Zhu-Lin Buddhist Temple kids’ art program.

I enjoy exploring peoples’ creative potential whilst teaching them valuable technical skills. I believe creativity should be nourished and encouraged. My mantra is that there is no right or wrong in art, just an imagination that needs to be set free, explored and appreciated. That's where art is made!

As a child, I was a student of the Ruth Tuck Art School, later completing a Bachelor of Graphic Design from the University of South Australia and then updated my drawing skills at the New York Studio School. In my 'day job', I work in graphic design and marketing.

I have a current police check and a working with children certificate.
