The Australian Wool Store: Sock Workshop (1 hour workshop)
In these one hour workshops you will learn how to cast on two socks at a time onto one circular needle, using one ball of yarn that has has been specially dyed by The Australian Wool Store to create an identical pair of socks (the socks will be completed by the student at their leisure).
A kit, worth $75, with all of the necessary materials for the workshop will be provided. Each kit includes a hand dyed sock yarn that is dyed to create an identical pair of socks, one circular needle, stitch markers and a detailed pattern.
The workshop is being held in the Fitters Workshop - adjacent to the Old Bus Depot Markets (inside the Former Transport Depot building), overlooking Brodburger and the Canberra Glassworks.
Intermediate knitting skills are required for this workshop. It is not suitable for a beginner knitter but is fine for an intermediate knitter who has never knitted a sock.
A minimum of 5 participants are required for the class to run.
ABOUT THE AUSTRALIAN WOOL STORE
The Australian Wool Store creates artisan yarns and merino tops that are hand dyed individually using carefully crafted dye recipes. Each skein and merino top has a unique dye pattern making each skein or top a little work of art.
We are thrilled to have Kathryn from the Australian Wool Store join us at the Old Bus Depot Markets to run her sock workshop. She's passionate about keeping our vintage skills alive and readily shares her knowledge.
