Come explore the forest with new eyes. Experience how spending time in nature can support our cognitive function and creativity.

Draw on all your senses to re-inspire and invigorate. Forest Therapy involves science based activities to enhance the healing qualities of nature. Spending time in nature has aslo been shown to assist improvement of our cognition, and creativity, reduce stress and improve immune function.

This one off walk will focus on creative processes for artists and explorers alike. Materials provided or bring your own sketch book/ journal. No experience needed!

Explore activites to refresh your cognitive function and inspire creativity. It includes a cup of herbal tea and light snack.

Shinrin Yoku North West has been bringing this experience of deep relaxation to NW Tasmania for over 5 years.

Who: The walk runs for 2 hours and is suitable for anyone with moderate fitness, who can walk inclines with loose surfaces. Not suitable for persons under 14.

Meet: At the beginning of the ‘Reserve Track’ to Rutherford Rd signage. From Massey-Green Drive, travel up Fern Glade rd, cross over the emu river bridge and enter Fern Glade via the second entry on the right. The track and small carpark is located on the left hand side before you get down to the main picnic area. Toilets are located at the main picnic area.

Bring: Clothing to be warm while standing, adequate footwear, drinking water and a raincoat to sit on.

Guide Elspeth Brock has worked for many years with therapeutic horticulture and is a certified Forest Therapy Guide with the International Nature and Forest Therapy Alliance (INFTA).
