The Art of Softening – A Sound of Being™ Journey

Woody Point Memorial HallWoody Point, QLD
Friday, Mar 6, 2026 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm AEST
Overview

Sound of Being™ - A holistic, trauma-informed, & powerful approach to healing, wellness, & self-awareness. Here is your invitation to self.

The Art of Softening – A Sound of Being™ Journey

The Art of Softening invites you into a deeply embodied experience where sound moves through the body, easing tension, quietening the mind, and signalling safety to the nervous system. This is a space to melt out of holding and return to a felt sense of ease.

Wrapped in sound, you’ll be guided into a state of deep rest where the body can recalibrate and the mind can finally switch off. Many participants leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more grounded — as though something has gently unclenched from within.

Join Byron Bay–based Matty Rainbow, Co-Founder of Sound Healing Australia, for this very special experience.

This 90-minute Sound of Being™ Journey is a multi-instrumental immersion designed to restore balance to your body, mind, and spirit. You’ll be bathed in layers of sound and guided through a blend of:

  • Crystal and Himalayan singing bowls
  • Paiste gongs, medicine drums, and crystal harps
  • Native American flute, ngoni, monolina, and handpan
  • Harmonium, mantra, ritual, and breathwork

Rooted in Vedic and shamanic traditions, this journey is both ancient and contemporary.
A space where science and spirit meet. Whether you are new to meditation or seasoned in sound healing, Solace offers freedom from mind-chatter, stress, and overwhelm, leaving you grounded and renewed.

What to Expect

  • A deeply restorative experience that down-regulates the nervous system
  • Moments of release, stillness, and profound calm
  • A renewed sense of presence and energy to carry forward
  • A deep sense of safety that supports complete surrender and trust

What to Bring

  • Yoga mat, blanket, and pillow/bolster for comfort
  • An eye covering for deeper rest
  • Any personal items that support your relaxation (crystals welcome)
  • A light meal beforehand and a water bottle

About Sound Healing

Sound Healing is an ancient practice now widely recognised in modern science as a powerful therapy for body and mind. Specific sound frequencies bring the body into resonance and coherence, supporting deep relaxation, emotional release, and energetic balance.

Sound Healing has been shown to support:

  • Stress and anxiety relief
  • Sleep and mood regulation
  • Lowering blood pressure
  • Pain management
  • Trauma release and emotional healing

By engaging both the nervous system and the subtle body, sound creates a holistic pathway back to equilibrium.

About Matty Rainbow

Matty is a meditation teacher, sound therapist, Kinesiologist, Reiki practitioner, and massage therapist. Together with his partner, Seriya, he co-founded Sound Healing Australia after years of offering sound journeys to thousands across the globe.

Matty’s approach blends practical science with the energetic realms of consciousness. With warmth and presence, he creates a safe and powerful container for healing, guiding participants into theta states of deep meditation where renewal becomes possible.

At home in the Byron Shire, Matty and his partner Seriya raise their two daughters while continuing to offer trainings, workshops, and events through their modality Sound of Being™ — an integrative practice of sound therapy, breathwork, and energy medicine.

What Others Say

Amelia W.

“I have never experienced such restfulness and stillness. Matty’s warm and nurturing presence created a space where I felt completely safe — being held by a man in this way was profoundly healing.”

Sarah T.
“This was my first sound healing. After losing my husband, I tried many therapies to release my grief, but nothing brought me peace until now. For the first time since his passing, I no longer blame myself. I am so grateful.”
