Note: The content of this Workshop will be different from that taught at the ‘The Art of Knife-Fighting Workshop’ on 11 October 2025 at Lords Dojo in Adelaide - we will be working on further developing your skills, and expanding on the concepts, attacks, entries and finishes we trained last time! So if you attended the Workshop on 11 October 2025, you're welcome to attend this Workshop on 21 February 2026 and continue your learning and development.

What you will learn in Part 1:
✅ The realities of knife attacks: psychology, patterns, and misconceptions
✅ Tactics for shielding and countering against edged-weapon attacks
✅ Skills for redirecting, controlling, and escaping from edged-weapon threats
✅ Disarms, and understanding disarming principles & the difficulties of disarms
✅ The use of improvised tools to defend against a knife attack
✅ Scenario-based drills to build skills and improve response times
~ PART 2: INTRODUCTION TO KNIFE-SPARRING ~
In Part 2 - the ‘Introduction to Knife-Sparring’ session, you’ll be introduced to knife skills, knife vs. knife sparring drills, and have the opportunity to participate in light, controlled knife-sparring.
What you will learn in Part 2:
✅ Introduction to the philosophy of Filipino Knife-Fighting
✅ Knife grips
✅ Different types of knife attacks
✅ Angles of attack
✅ Knife vs. knife sparring drills
✅ Creating openings by feinting (faking) to draw a particular reaction from the opponent
✅ Flow drills to apply the techniques in real-time, improving your reflexes, coordination and decision-making under pressure
✅ Knife-sparring (controlled, light-contact)
Who the Workshop is for:
This Workshop is suitable for beginners, martial artists, and martial arts instructors, who are interested in personal protection, concerned about knife attacks, and are keen to integrate weapons into their existing skillset in a fun, friendly, safe yet exciting training environment!
