Join local comic artists and creators Peter Wilson and Ben Mitchell as they discuss their creative processes and their work within the field of comic creation with Karen Beilharz. Peter has self-published his own comic under the Scoundrel Creative banner and has more projects he’s launching soon. Ben’s comics have been presented around the world in exhibitions and anthologies, and his Storm Clouds series appears in comic and zine stores worldwide.

Peter Wilson is a comic artist; comic creator; fan artist; WebComic creator; and writer. Peter has contributed to Crimson & Rascal; Foes; and Scoundrel Creative. Peter’s works cover the genres of funny comic creator, indie cartoonist, digital artist and concept art.

Ben Mitchell is a freelance illustrator, brand designer and comic artist In 2020, he received a Bronze Ledger Award for his work in comics. In 2021, he received an MPhil in Visual Communication Design for his thesis, Losing Control Of Comics.

Karen Beilharz is a writer, editor, comics creator and podcast producer from Sydney. Her comics writing includes the comic anthologies Kinds of Blue and Monsters (the latter was shortlisted for a Ledger Award in 2017), and the science fiction graphic novel Eternal Life (with Paul Wong-Pan). Her comics editing includes Fabled Kingdom Volumes II and III (Queenie Chan), and Sneaky Goblins and Mythic Creature Trainer (René Pfitzner). She is currently working on a middle grade comic fantasy adventure graphic novel with Peter Fairfax and a prose young adult fantasy novel. Parking and Venue information

Toronto Library, located on the corner of Brighton Ave & Pemell St, has a public carpark adjacent to the building with accessible parking available that provides access via a ramp to the library. The venue has accessible toilets outside the facility. The library can be accessed by public buses.
