About this event

The 2023 CIRP Design Conference will be hosted at the University of New South Wales (UNSW ). UNSW is a powerhouse of cutting-edge research, teaching and innovation. UNSW is one of the top 100 universities in the world, with more than 59,000 students and a 7,000-strong research community. Located in Sydney, Australia’s largest city, the University was established in 1949 with a unique focus on the scientific, technological and professional disciplines.

The 33rd CIRP Design Conference focuses on the theme of “Grand Challenges for Engineering Design”. On the one hand, we seek novel solutions to a variety of significant engineering challenges, in the post-pandemic world, which can be addressed using innovative design thinking. On the other hand, we seek transformations of engineering design towards higher intelligence and digitalization.

The conference program includes 3 keynote speeches, 2-3 workshops, 180-200 technical presentations, welcome reception, and gala dinner.

It is a requirement that at least one author of each accepted paper must present the work in person for the paper to be published in Procedia CIRP.
