Tenant Participation Working Group

Dedicated group of public and community housing tenants working to integrate lived experience participation mechanisms in social housing

We are a dedicated group of public and community housing tenants. With the assistance of Q Shelter, we formed a Tenant Participation Working Group in 2023. We view tenants as key stakeholders and aim to integrate ‘lived experience’ participation mechanisms and practices across public and community housing.

We aim to establish co-design processes that engage the voices and expertise of tenants as equals in decision-making about housing policy, conditions, and services, leading to the planning, monitoring, and ongoing adjustment of services.

Meetings in 2026 will be held in person in Brisbane with an option to join online from 1:30-3:30pm and dates are:

February 2nd 2026

April 13th 2026

June 1st 2026

August 3rd 2026

October 5th 2026 (date to be moved due to public holiday)

December 7th 2026
