• 10:05am – Get involved in an Interactive Game…You could be a prize winner

• 10:30am – Participate in your selected morning workshop

• 12:00pm – Enjoy lunch on us, we cater for all dietary options

• 1:00pm – Participate in your selected afternoon workshop

• 2:30pm – Conclusion of day

Here are your workshop options

We ask that you attend a maximum of two workshops on the day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

• Carpentry Workshop:

Do you enjoy making and creating objects with wood? Consider this hand-on workshop to learn about the different carpentry hand tools including nailing guns and electric drop saw. There will be a demonstration and the chance for you to cut some timber and create different shapes with the assistance of our RMIT teachers.

• Engineering Workshop

Ever wondered how bridges are structurally designed? In this workshop you will test a few engineering solutions in our laboratories and understand how important structural engineering is. You will have a hands-on demonstration of load testing of beams and trusses, and learn how these laboratory tests relate to real-life engineering solutions for important structural engineering problems.

• Networking Cisco Lab Workshop

Have you heard of an IP? It’s pretty much a series of numbers that identify any device on a network like the computer or phone you use. In this workshop, you have the opportunity to cable and configure state-of the-art networking devices, it’ll take you through a few concepts to understand cable types, switches, and routers and also learn how IP addressing is so important to know.

• Surveying Workshop

So what does a surveyor really do? If you have seen them on the sidewalk looking through a tripod and questioned, why, then join this workshop for a demonstration to better understand the importance of surveyors. Learn how they use a range of equipment to capture measurements and data for property and land construction-related projects.

• Web Programming Workshop

Curious about what happens behind the scenes when you order products from an online shopping website? In this workshop you’ll have the opportunity to interact with an online shopping website and explore database connectivity and online database inventory management. This is essential when learning about e-commerce.

• Advanced Manufacturing Workshop

Have you heard about Industry 4.0 and how robotics are changing the world? Take a tour of RMIT's mini factory and we'll explain the roles robots have in each area and how you could be the master behind the commands you give the robot. Tour include state-of-the-art facilities you could be using as an RMIT student and understanding the importance of the future of factory robotino robots.

• Building Design Workshop

Do you like to draw or create sketches of building designs? In this workshop you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your creative side whilst understanding the role of a building designer on a project. Immerse yourself in a hands-on experience, we'll provide you with a design brief, and you’ll be guided into sketching and drawing a basic building plan, with guidance from our teachers.

• Cyber Security Workshop

How do hackers steal peoples credentials? In this workshop, you will participate in a cyber-attack scenario involving phishing email, Facebook scams and more advance methods of stealing data online. Learn about performing credential harvesting and how they steal peoples information.

• Plumbing Workshop

Plumbing is a trade that is always on demand! If you are interested in learning more about the plumbing industry, come and join this workshop where you’ll have the opportunity to use and understand our newest Virtual Reality Welding Machine, you’ll also learn about pipe joining through an interactive activity. Join in the fun with a competition to showcase the pipe joining skills you learn on the day.
