About this event

  • 3 hours

The goal of Teaching Relationships and Puberty in Grades 3-6 (TQI accredited course) is to increase teachers' skills and confidence in delivering sexuality and relationships education in primary schools.

As ‘sexuality’ and ‘relationships’ is a focus area in the Australia Health and Physical Education Curriculum (Australia Curriculum, 2018), teachers must deliver this content in schools.

Teaching Relationships and Puberty in Grades 3-6 is designed to support teachers in delivering this content to a high standard, fulfilling curriculum requirements and contributing to educating a generation of sexually healthy adults.

The program focuses on:

  • Child sexual development
  • The changes of puberty – physical, social and emotional
  • Communication skills to teach students about relationships and protective behaviours
  • Responding to challenging behaviours in the classroom
  • Answering difficult questions

A TQI Accredited 2024 Course for Educators.

Note: If schools would like multiple members of staff trained, we are happy to provide the training ‘in house’ at schools. A discount is available if 5 or more staff members attend from one school, call 02 6247 3077 for more details.
