Tea, bickies and stories of social change
Discover the people, movements and organisations that have achieved social change in Perth — all over tea and bickies.
Perth’s history is woven with stories of cultural and social change, from noisy protests to the quieter persistence of organisations such as the Country Women’s Association (CWA).
Join us for an afternoon exploring these powerful stories. From 1–2 pm, enjoy an engaging talk that traces how communities have challenged injustice, pushed for reform and quietly reshaped society over time.
Arrive from 12 pm to settle in with a cuppa and CWA biscuits, available throughout the afternoon, and take the opportunity to explore our exhibition Disrupt, persist, invent: Australians in an ever-changing world.
After the talk, you’re welcome to stay until 3 pm to continue the conversation, reflect on what you’ve heard and view the exhibition at your own pace.
This free event offers a welcoming space to learn, connect and discover Perth’s enduring legacy of activism, resilience and community action.
This event is part of the Lotterywest Boorloo Heritage Festival.
